Join us for a conversation with Joline Godfrey, the critically acclaimed author of “Raising Financially Fit Kids.” Joline is the CEO of Independent Means, the Santa Barbara , CA , based company that provides financial education for families concerned with preparing the next generation for self-sustaining, purposeful lives. Independent Means serves the country's wealthiest families, thought leader schools, and cutting edge financial institutions. 
             
Godfrey describes the current economic climate as "a prime teachable moment--offering a unique opportunity to have impact on the economic values and development of the next generation." In this session she will describe what she observes as a "renaissance in family development" and will share  strategies for parents,  aunts, mentors, grandparents aimed at raising the next generation with a new consciousness of financial purpose and behavior.

About Joline Godfrey:       
 
Joline is the CEO of Independent Means.  “Independent Means...sustainable, financially fit, resourceful, entrepreneurial, philanthropic, creative.” Joline grew up in a family business started by her grandfather. She received her BS in child development from the Univ. of Maine at Orono and earned  her MSW from Boston University . She joined the Polaroid Corp. to offer family treatment for officers and employees of the company. By 1995 she had sold her first business, written her first book on women entrepreneurs, started the first non-profit offering financial education for girls, and founded Independent Means. Godfrey is the subject of a popular Harvard Business School case, was awarded an honorary degree from Bentley University and has been featured in the  NYT, WSJ, CBS Early Morning, The Today Show, NPR, and Oprah. Today, Independent Means is the leading provider of financial education to families, family offices, financial institutions, and private schools.
