It's difficult to believe it is mid-October as HBSWANY’s 10th year comes to an end and our 11th begins.
We wanted to mark our 10th with a year of great events and I certainly think we did. We had more than 52 events including faculty presentations by Professors Robin Ely and Nancy Kohen, annual holiday party, annual Summer Solstice, LPQ breakfasts and a wide range of other events including a panel on careers in PE, talks by alumna Carolyn Everson from Facebook and HBSWANY founding member Cynthia Vance King (MBA'85) from WNYC. We also had activities in Westchester and NJ.
We wanted a BIG Finale to the year and thanks to a lot of hard work by former HBSWANY presidents Kathy Murray (AMP 112) & Amy Tsui Luke (MBA '94) and board member Gulum Williams (MBA '97), our 10th Anniversary Celebration was bigger and better than we had envisioned. Special thanks to BCG, the perfect host at their incredible offices in Hudson Yards. But what really made the event special was Dean Nohria who made our event a priority in his busy schedule.
So now that “10” is behind us, I am looking forward to celebrating “20”. But that will only happen if you get involved. Please do a little or do a lot... just DO!
Plan an event, host an event, volunteer for the Programming or Marketing/Membership Committees, help with social media or simply help recruit friends to attend events. It took many folks to get us to 10; it will take many others to get us to "20". I am confident that with your help we will achieve that and more.
